2024 was another big year for Billy Goat Hop Farm! We’re grateful for all of the awesome brewers who use our craft hops in their delicious beers, and for all of the publications that helped get the word out about what we’re up to. Here are a few press highlights from 2024.

Craft Hops For The Win
In January, we were named the first place winner of Hop Quality Group’s 2024 Cascade Cup for the second consecutive year! That makes us the first farm to ever win the award in back-to-back years, and Beer Buzz has the buzz!
Then in March, the Shavano Conservation District named us the Conservation Producer of the Year! Read all about it in the Telluride Daily Planet.
As the beer industry evolves, small craft hop farms like ours have the ability to stay nimble. The Drinks Business interviewed us about changing prices and the reality that brewers are moving away from contracts and more towards options like spot orders. (Want to learn more about spot ordering? Click here!)

We Love Visitors On The Farm
Our friends at FlyteCo in Denver really put the fresh in fresh hop beers every year when they fly across the state during our harvest to pick up their hops off the bine, and then brew with them all in one day! This year we hosted the largest aviation association in the world - the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, and they made an incredible video, “Hops Across the Rockies”, about the journey. In addition, we also hosted Molly O’Brien of Matador Network for this hop pilgrimage. Don’t miss her awesome photos in this article about the journey.
The fine folks at Tree House Brewing Co. also came to visit during their cross-country tour de craft hops that they documented in this beautiful documentary-style video. Watch “An epic journey of craft hops” here and stay for their shorter video about us: “Experience the best Cascade hops in America!”

Harvest Season Scoop
Summertime is always a wild ride at a farm that grows craft hops, especially when that farm throws a big festival of fresh hop beers at the end of the season! That’s us in case you were wondering! Read about the third annual Southwest Fresh Fest in Westword, Montrose Press, Morning Ag Clips, Craft Brewing Business, and Brewer Magazine, to name a few.
Big thanks to Tiney Ricciardi who spent a day with us on the farm during harvest for this Denver Post article about local farms that harvest by hand.
Also this summer, Cultivating Colorado magazine covered Colorado agriculture investments that strengthen local supply chains, including a grant that we received to purchase a hammer mill, a mixing tank, and a feed auger— all necessary equipment for pelletizing hops for breweries across the Four Corners.
Thanks for reading and supporting our farm! Like we say, Know Your Farmer, Love Your Beer. We hope to see you next year!
